Honestly, the way I see it, this anime gets flamed mostly because it's starting to seem more and more overrated. I mean, Naruto is almost its own separate genre. For instance, if you upload an anime-related video on youtube and put in the tag "anime", one of the recommended tags that comes up is "Naruto", as if ALL anime vids pertain to Naruto.

People consider themselves anime fans when they only ever watch and favor mainstream anime series (Naruto, Bleach, etc.). While the anime itself IS good imo (And Rock Lee IS freakin' AWESOME!), it's still pretty overrated and thus, is not even in my top 20 anime series. Ironic because I was once obsessed with it and it was my most favorite anime series at one point. The thing is, I branched out and discovered newer anime series that I enjoyed much much more. But hey, we all have our own opinions. And while this was quite a bit of a rant, this should sum up why this anime gets flamed. Remember, when something starts to seem overrated, it tends to get avoided and flamed/bashed. xP
