We're considering making an Anime Figures Database. Is anyone a collector of figures, dolls, BJD's?

Doesn't Myfigurecollection already do this?

So why can't I? I want to do it better!

Yahoo existed so does that mean Google should never have tried?

That's not what I'm saying, MFC just seems to cover all the bases that I can think of - characters, artists, sculptors, companies, sizes, even lists to show what you own/want/are selling etc. One of the only problems I have using it is that searching for tags is hard because not every entry is fully tagged, but that's a contributor thing, not a site-building thing. But hey, I've never bought a figure in my life, so the only thing I really use it for is when I get a Who request with a figure, so I only have a certain level of experience with it.

If you're not into figures or dolls then then why did you reply? You only hurt my feelings and made me feel pretty depressed. Please don't do that anymore.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I was only trying to make a constructive comment. I don't think I was being rude or hurtful at all. I had no idea if you'd ever heard of the other website, so I was only pointing it out as an example.

If someone has an idea and you point them somewhere saying it exists, then that hurts. A lot. Now you know.

I don't think it has to be that way - Almost everything has existed at some point, so some of the fun of getting a new idea is figuring out how to make it unique or different. I was only trying to start a brainstorm/discussion on how a new database would set itself apart as a unique tool or website.

But I suppose I'll dip out of this now, since my input isn't bringing anything positive to this thread.

That's the site we saw earlier today xD I was looking at some referral stats for acdb, noticed it and had Cirno check it out.

I know Cirno would be happy adding her dolls and creations to a figure database on acdb, so we were curious if anyone else would be excited too.

While there's no getting around the fact that everything has been done before , there's also the fact that it's never been done our way before . Cirno and I could create something with our personal touch that might be better or more fun.
