As I've mentioned previously in this thread, the point of the Waifu/Husbando feature WAS to be a competition. It's a battle with other members over the characters you love the most. We already have a favorites list and a loved characters list to simply keep track of the characters you like. If you don't want to compete with others, just add a character to your loved characters list and be done with it, nobody can touch them there.
