is there that many people using resolutions that low ? :X
if i make banners having in mind such resolutions the banners will fill like 25% when in (for example) 1920x1080.

i could try and see how it looks on a smaller scale, but i do need to resize everything. Will try it tomorrow.

Went ahead and faded the right side of my banners:

Well, with the wave of netbooks and tablets, the installed GPU usually isn't all that powerful. So the resolution problem thingy is coming back from the dead (it's a zombie!!) whether we like it or not. I personally don't care too much about looking at cut off banners, but some people might. Luckily I don't think it goes below 1024x600, so there's not much to worry about. (I think the smartphones resolutions are a tad bit smaller, but people should be using the mobile version of the site in that case anyway)

The banner seems like it works. I won't really know until Rei adds it to the rotation. As long as you keep the main subject/focus within a 971x254 pixel area, it'll show up on a 1024 screen just fine.
