Answer to yesterday's question: Japan is the number one vending machine society, in terms of machines per person with one machine per an estimated fifty people, according to the Japan Vending Machine Manufacturers Association (JVMA). In 2008 the JVMA reported 5,263,900 vending machines operating in Japan, with drink machines making up 49%. Vending machines in Japan are also known for their variety with many products to choose from like vegetables, eggs, hot meals, wrapped presents, flowers, cigarettes, and alcoholic beverages, just to name a few.

Today's question: What is the approximate gross annual vending machine sales of used woman's panties in Japan. .

Yo peeps! Today while searching for the Stuff of the Day, I knew I found it as soon as I saw this:

Make lunch time into fun time with this Pokéball lunch set! You can wow the lunch crown by packing your bento in this awesome Pokéball! Bento (弁当) is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japan. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container. PB&J, I choose you!

And now for Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!

Answer to yesterday's question, given by KidA: The person credited for inventing instant noodle ramen is Momofuku Ando, a Taiwanese-Japanese business man. On August 25 1958, at the age of 48 and after months of trial and error to perfect his flash-frying method, Ando marketed the first package of precooked instant noodles called Chikin Ramen, named after it's original chicken flavor. Chikin Ramen was originally considered a luxury item with a price of ¥35, around six times that of traditional udon and soba noodles at the time. Today Chikin Ramen retails around ¥60 which is approximately one third the price of the cheapest bowl of noodles in a Japanese restaurant.

Today's question: Approximately how many vending machines are there in Japan?

If you would like to submit your answer you can send it to cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com, or send me a PM. I will give you the answer tomorrow.

~ Have a great day!
