Living by the sea, protecting the sea, and journeying across the sea… They’re the Blue Mermaids! Because of a shift in tectonic plates around 100 years ago, Japan lost much of its area to submergence. To preserve Japan’s territories, Coastal Cities sprung up, one after the other. Eventually, they became Marine Cities, and along with the expansion of sea-lanes to connect them, the need arose for a sizable staff to protect the seas. This is when childhood friends Akeno Misaki and Moeka China enroll in a marine high school in Yokosuka, along with other girls who share their goal of ”BECOMING A BLUE MERMAID.”
A comical adventure, family friendly with amazing life lessons mixed with engaging fantasy. Quite easily one of the best all time animes. Only compliant is it can be drawn out but that can add a certain characteristic to it as well.
Female war gods. Powerful, sexy, amazing. Male archer as the protagonist.
I like the spirit and energy this series is brimming with. Gonna watch.
Few episodes in .... feels like a console game poorly ported to anime. :/ Much of the background information is gutted out, and things progress very brokenly. It does have fragments of a good story, but I'd rather watch something with the complete story than this. ie) Nanatsu no Taizai
It sucks Hime has to dress up as a girl because of his family and the people after them and him
. This can be likened to Natsuru's position, from Kampfer, which also sucks. Although, Hime does make a convincing female
To me, this was a weird series, especially at the end. For some reason, whenever I saw Kyouko Todayama I was reminded of Haruhi Suzumiya (and it is not entirely the hair bands [although, that does play some part] it was more alone the lines of position in the group and personality)
In my opinion, to sum up both seasons, they both were great. The characters grew on you, and the mecha's were awesome. One of the episodes I thought was a little strange was the method all the girls were using to get the crown off Ichika's head... ah, well what do you expect ... mastermind Tatenashi
. Jeez, Ichika, in that one episode you couldn't see that the girls were up to something... especially after waking up from being manhandled and seeing Maya ... well I guess in his defense he did have a hard decision to make after all the girls' performances
Now the desire for a season 3.
Why, oh why, did the series have to end after 12 episodes
. Man, I want more episodes (and a 2nd and possible 3rd season). Ahh, thinking about Sora and Miu's attempts at Yuuta
, how cute. Oh yeah and a lot of facepalm moments.
