I know been asking a lot lately for different implementations. But this one is for a good cause! I swear! .

When my request for Granblue Fantasy to be added into the database got approved, I was going to start adding in chars, but it looks like someone else kinda beaten me to the punch and already been adding in a few new chars. And when I go to Add Chars in that series profile, it only shows me the list of the chars that I personally submitted for other series, instead of the ones that others are going to submit for that particular one. I'm kinda afraid of flooding the mod approval queue with chars that might've been already submitted by others. Is there a way to show chars that are already been submitted and waiting for approval or something? That way Li doesn't have to sift through the request of duplicate submissions. That transparency shouldn't really be a privacy issue and should (hopefully) reduce the workflow for Li-san.

But during the meantime, I'm very sorry Li-san. I don't know how far that other person has gotten, but I'm going to be pro-active about this series that I personally requested for and start submitting in many chars as I can for now.

Also while on that note, is there a way to implement as system to queue up changes for like main pics or additional images as well, like how the trait submission works? Because I asked Li to change the main pic on one char, but she has not gotten to it yet, maybe she forgotten about it. But there might be more in the future for different changes such as main pic change or better quality for images or even request for deletions (since there are few images I want to transfer to a different char where it's more fitting to avoid filling up the database with unnecessary duplicate images). So it might be easier, instead of having to keep asking individually each time either in forums or in the lounge just to have those minor things changed, but instead Li could just look over a list that would be waiting for her approval/action. I can understand how it might be harder to implement a queue system for things like say title requests, but hopefully it might be easier for gallery/image changes request?

Lol I see. Though I do appreciate your enthusiasm to get it started, so thank you for the help. XD
But like I stated in my op, the possibility for a possible issue/conflict in submitting the chars at the same time still stands though. Hopefully this will attract the attention of Rei-sama and she could address this.

Is it possible to have that submission history button also near the upload a character link/area? That way people can check before they submit because if it's that obscured/out of view, then people are just going ignore or easily skip over that. "Out of sight, out of mind" and all that. And the only way it would ever be viewed are by people like me who are actually mindful about this stuff. Might also help if you put a note next to it, telling people to check before they submit.

And if you could implement those assignment and image changes system, please do. Cuz that would be really great life saver. Because eventually Granblue will release more updated arts and chars that provides better quality or clarity. And it's not just Granblue. Even other games that are going through updates or revamps such as Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy. For a case in point, someone submitted the Awakening artwork for Catria as her main image instead of her respective game artwork. And that's understandable since every time chars get new artwork, it's more modern and fresh quality/clarity compared to their older and very noticeably aged ones. And it's only going to get harder from here on since Nintendo made Fire Emblem Heroes, which is an inner series/franchise crossover title that brings all of their chars from all of their main flagship titles [12 titles in total]. Therefore, many chars will get (or already have gotten) new official updated artworks. And there's the fact that they just recently revamped Gaiden, so therefore all of those current old char artworks in the Gaiden title section are going to have to be replaced soon, too. At the rate Nintendo's going, it won't be long before they revamp all of their other old titles such as FE4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Well... Eventually....

But neverthless, the problem is going to soon rear its ugly head. And I really don't want to swamp the lounge/forums every time I need to get the main pics updated/changed AND maybe have to remind Li about said changes, since she prolly forgets because she has a lot on her plate.

And also this is only kind of a QOL type of suggestion. Whenever I add a char request and setup their traits, I sometimes have be mindful of pressing "Change status for moderation" button because otherwise when I go back to the list of chars I submitted, it literally shows no difference. Whether when it's in ready status and submission page shows this or even when it's not ready and it still shows this. The only thing my char submission page alerts me is if I missed setting a trait or two. But nothing about the mod ready status. I mean can the mods still approve if it's not in ready status? I literally have to make sure before closing or moving to another page if I properly turned the status button or not because there's like no way to tell unless I personally check each individual chars.

With Sailor Moon and HXH, it looks like we just updated the images. Kept the same characters.

Ummm Yeah... That "Another View" is very vague. I didn't even know it was a submission history button until you told me. So when you showed me the submission history page previously, I actually had to try to find the link to that page, which is how I found that "Submission History" link... But it was kinda hard to notice due to it kinda being buried among the other blue links.

And about the swap buttons... umm... What exactly each button do? Because those names are kinda vague too... ^^; If you could post up a guide or something, it would be helpful. I mean I could try messing around with it, but I'm kinda afraid of messing with something that I'm not familiar with, esp if it could screw up something.

And for the character assignments, is that going by what I said in the acdb help lounge, about how to link other chars from other series/titles?

And about the matter of the legacy artworks and HD/modern remakes part, I'm guessing that's more of a discussion you will have to have among the other admins/mods. But you could also always ask the people to take a poll on how they feel or think about it. Because I do understand your sentiment and attachment to old artworks (I have a few attachments myself), but as you said, it would be more recognizable for more recent generations of fans with modern artworks, and as we both mentioned, it does look better in terms of view-able quality and clarity. Though not always necessarily better in style (since I understand what they did with the new Berserk even though I never watched it).... But then again, that one is up for personal preferences in the end anyways. So might I suggest you to perhaps ask the visitors and members to input their opinions on the matter as well? After all, this is for the fans out there, is it not?

And did you have a chance to look at the issue of "change status - waiting approval" notification? I just ask for some kind of status icon or something on the submission page to let one know if they turned on the status button or not, without having to go into the char page itself.

But anyways thank you for your hard work so far. Didn't think you would get on it so fast lol.

@YuriYuri I don't mind if you request me to look at a franchise. I do actually play FE: Heroes so I can easily go through that one and add the characters to the title.

I don't mind if you send me a PM asking for characters to be assigned or images to be swapped - but only as long as it's mostly a long PM. I'd prefer that over a million smaller ones :'D

@Rei as for the images issue... it's not really an issue? For old franchises we do add the characters and link them as duplicates (as done with the Arslan and JoJo franchises). I think there are should be the old HXH characters there as well? I haven't actually done much with it because it's a little bit of a mess and also huge lol

It's not like I completely destroy the old ones, the old images can be added to new characters as well. I've never been a fan of old anime so *leshrug*

But that's the thing. That could be a *potential* problem if you don't the know series very well enough to link them. Because FE heroes is one thing since like I said that's (so far) an inner series crossover, basically that means it only does a crossover within its own franchise, and it's a series that you apparently play. But Granblue on the other hand, had crossovers from not only an older game that their studio did in the past (aka Rage of Bahamut, which is still alive) as well as collaborations with other animes and games such as Cinderella Girls, Street Fighters, Slayers, Tales series, Sakura Wars, and so on. Who knows how much more collabs/crossovers they will do later on, but that can be a problem to request if you need confirmation, but you are unfamiliar with it.

Also on the matter of pms, it depends on how often they would release new arts/chars and such, and if I hold off or not (or I disappear for a while), so I can't promise to be able to make a long pm everytime. And this won't be just a problem just for these few series, but I'm sure for many other series. It just won't be efficient to flood your inbox for these requests.

Also one other thing. I been wondering since I been doing this whole submission thing from the start, but... Are you like the only who approves of all of this stuff, Li? 0.o
I only ask because it seems like a lot of this (non web coding/design/layout) stuff gets done only whenever you are on.

Lastly, at your point towards Rei, that's what I was thinking, too, about adding the old pics to the new chars. It's not like they have to be removed or anything, just swap with a more fresher coat of paint. That's all. But of course, like I said in my reply to Miss Rei, whether it's likable or not to some people, is all mainly preferences. Just my 2 cents there. w

Can I be the first to say that I hate collab games for this very reason? This is why I didn't want to add Capcom VS Namco because it has way too many people from way too many series. :'D

At the moment, a lot of the character mods that I had helping me out have either gotten busy with RL and disappeared or are just AWOL. I've been keeping an eye on submissions for new recruits though, and you are a good candidate because you ask questions and are pretty consistent with your submissions. If you're interested I'm happy to coach you through it
