I've been thinking about this thread since this morning, but i have had better ideas with the tools we already have than on new items.
It is hard to create a balanced brand new item wich gives some new functions without risk of breaking the meta. I suppose i can post my ideas anyway, it won't hurt anyone ^u^ (long post imcoming) Thinking about the existing tools, we have 3 main interactions: Claiming waifus, Gain happiness, and NTR them. I have thought of giving this 3 interactions actual effects on what happens when we do it, being more immersive and adding some strategy. We could make the happiness the most important thing if we change the other things too according to this, for example: -Claiming waifus for the first time if nobody claimed always grants success, but if it's NTR no longer grants success just by clicking it: All the people have the possibility to Claim, but the chance of success depends on how much % of happiness you and the owner have of that Waifu, making much harder to a new claimer to NTR waifus when you invested 40+ hours on protecting her, but getting a balance of success when there are a 1v1 battle over time, avoiding snowball effects. Obviously there should be a decent cap, like 40% chance of failing at 100% Waifu happiness if the claimer have 0%. Including this, when the claim fails you win 1-3% happiness, protection from that person for the next 30 minutes and you can receive a message saying: "-Your Waifu- rejected -X- for your love" making it much more satisfying. -Gaining happiness is not anymore just 10-30 presents in a row, new mechanics like having time of delay between presents based on his level: S have 1 hour of CD SS have 2 hours of CD etc Why this cooldown? because happiness affects all the other things, being more important to earn and making it much more relevant. With this new mechanic, you have to actually invest time on your waifu, and if done correctly, obtain better results. -Happiness is no longer a static %, even if you log in daily, when time passes your waifu % is lost by a little amount every X hours, increasing the % lost each time it decreases and doubling if your Waifu is NTR. This mechanic is the hardest, because its very difficult to balance with the happiness gained with the presents, but not impossible. Moreover, with this mechanic the essence extractor really matters, because you will spend essences more frequently and we will want to get and use the best ones we can. -Achieving 100% happiness with your waifu could grant some reward showing that your bond is truely marvelous. Something like a mark with a number of times you achieved it or a mini avatar with her image and the number of times done. When obtaining 100% a message pop out asking if you want to pass to the next level with her ≺3 (you know what i mean e.e) and your points restart to zero. I like to think to this as a game-expander and at the same time making it more competitive. -About the items, i only have one decent idea. I think you can obtain some kind of buffs for a limited period of time when you reach X percentages of happiness; when you reach 30 happiness you get a -meh- buff, when you reach 60 you get a actually worthy buff and when you reach 90 you get a very glorious decent buff, but ONLY for that waifu. What kind of buffs? maybe: 30-if activated it prevents the next NTR you gonna receive on this waifu and ban that person from claiming it again during 4 hours (it won't use it if the claim fails itself for the % happiness) 60-it gives +1.5 % of happiness income and -1.5% loss in the next 24 hours 90-You can choose between two: having the cooldowns of presents reduced by 30% during 12 hours / the next time someone tries to NTR you and it succeeds they lose 50% of his total happiness, but prevents you to claim her the next 16 hours (yeah you have eaten that landmine dude) With all this ideas i think it will become a really dynamic minigame, giving importance to other tools and minigames like essence extractor and the hidden chests, and having better rewards for spending time strengthening the bonds with your waifus.
