I'm thinking it's about time we make use of the option to search characters by light or dark hair...

But before that, we need to be clear what exactly is light hair, what is dark hair, and what falls in between being neither light nor dark. Any thoughts?



When I first came up with the idea... characters either were 1) light hair 2) dark hair 3) not indexed
So yeah, that is not the best of ideas...

Now I'm thinking... let's use a scale of 1 - 10.
1 being really light ( pretty much white with a hint of some other color ) to
10 very very dark / intense color ( a solid color )

Values in the middle, say 4, 5, 6, 7 would all be neutral.
1, 2 and 3 would be grouped as light, thus clearing away some of the subjectivity...
8, 9 and 10 would be grouped as dark for the same reason.

Good enough, or is there a better option?

Maybe you should provide users with some very clear example images of what you consider light, what you consider dark and what you consider neutral (of many colours). This is something very subjective, so without proper guidelines, it's not going to end up being very useful.

When I first saw them, I wished that character would have been indexed already as having light hair.


I still think, if this only applied to the most extreme cases, it'd be most useful, with minimal subjectivity.
