First of all a spelling error, "Romji" should be romaji. Next, you have a few fields for existing anime/game listings, how about a search feature for those who don't know if an anime/game is in the database? I propose a small search string that when submitted brings up a small popup window saying what info is needed if the series exists and that that series doesn't exist in the database if it indeed doesn't. I'm seeing this as something that compares the search string to a small database with the anime/game name, database entry no., and the homepage/info page of that anime/game. After the database has been queried, bring one result if it is an exact match and three or more results producing close matches if it does not produce an exact match. This will, IMO, help eliminate a potential future problem of input for duplicate series.

Updated Romji to Romaji. As for avoiding duplicates, short answer is: I'll leave that in the hands of my inhuman moderation team. They know the database inside and out, and will catch all duplicates. While I could write the features you suggest, I fear they will be no more used than the normal search feature as a precaution of avoiding a duplicate. There's also the issue of the database lacking other titles for a given series. Someone searching "Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de" will not find that anime, while someone searching "They Are my Nobel Masters" would find it. The general theme of your suggestion, expanding the areas of being able to search... is something I need to avoid duplicates myself. Long story short, the laughable Advanced Search will soon be replaced by something truly impressive that can accomplish exactly what you're talking about. ^_^ It'll be expanded to search URL's, URI's, folder/image names, along with basic regexp ^startswith endswith^ both word1+word2 etc.... |

On second thought... a simplified character search, and simplified anime/game search would be super useful. Coding it now. Links will be placed on the submit character page, and will open in pop up windows.
