Mitsugu Mouryou’s Anime Review
Ghost Talker’s Daydream… Here’s one for the books: Misaki Saiki an albino spirit medium by day, and a dominatrix by night. This is the anime equivalent late night skin-o-max softcore cable pron. Though there is no sex, there is no shortage of innuendo. I can’t really say all that much more without a heaping helping of spoilers, after all this is a very short OVA.
is an immediate attention grabber. Though there are 4 episodes, there are only 3 different stories. This is due to the fact that the manga it's based on, is… far more explicit, so they took 3 of the more docile volumes, and rewrote them completely for the DVD release. A great example of creative liberties being ambitious, but ending up rubbish.
Is spot on for the intended feel, but with some slight alterations in the dialogue. You will hear many familiar voices in both JP and the EN dub.
is just fine. I love the fact that they kept Misaki as an albino, though she looks as pale as ghost though the whole series. Ironic huh?
Surprisingly in just 4 episodes there is a little development, but only Misaki Saiki and Ai Kunugi.
I really liked it. Ghost Talker’s Daydream is packed full of humor(both laugh out loud and satirical), plenty of fan service, mild violence, nudity, foul language, and plenty
of crass innuendo… hence the literal translation of the title: “Vulgar Ghost Daydream”. Now this OVA is great for a quick laugh(for slightly more mature viewers), and I do recommend it, but I really can’t give it a very high rating do to it because it is about an hour and 10mins long, and not really going anywhere, so I give it a 4.2(out of 10) Recommended as a must have for any otaku’s collection, but it has and always does leave me unsatisfied… Unga Bunga! Me Want Moar!
