Hm. Despite all the, well, deaths, Death Note is a great anime. It's one of the ones that really drew me in. After I'd finished watching it, I wished it could go on and I found myself wanting to watch it over and over. You'd have to watch it a couple of times to understand exactly what happens, but.

The girls basically all completely love Kamito. Obviously I am talking about the main girls here that actually have names. Just look at all the blushing that is already going on with the girls and we are still only in the first arc of the story. Not canon. Himaruya hasn't come up with any actual designs for the rest of the UK (Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland) (In fact, THIS (http://www.hetarchive.net/characters/scotland.jpg) is probably the closest we'll ever get to an actual design of SCOTLAND. Himaruya hasn't even mentioned Northern Ireland much when in comparison to the rest). This image is just a fanmade design, made by someone who has a tendency to use Himaruya's style when making up OCs for said fandom.

As such, it should be considered for possible deletion, as it's neither canon, nor is this even Northern Ireland to begin with. (view post)

I personally stand behind the anime trying to make Pitou more feminine with the extra curves/voice. However the manga is just too vague to call her either male or female since there have been hints to both and never a clear answer from the author. In my mind I'd like to call Pitou a girl and will continue to do so but realistically speaking it's just unknown since even the manga is very inconsistent in the hints they give towards her/him/it.

I do however completely agree that the author of HxH has that nasty habit you spoke off, first the trolled me with Kurapika and later on with the little brother of Killua that joined the chimera ants but looked so ridiculously much like a female. xD (view post)

The author/manga-ka of HxH has a habit of of making nearly every character you want to be female, male. There's enough references in the manga that she is male in the manga .

But, I'm firmly in the camp that she was made female for the anime audience. She was given a Female Voice Actor, and animated with a female figure. (view post)

Rei out of all the things you say where added in DxD NEW there are only a few that were actually added in DxD NEW since most of em were already in season 1.
I do however agree if we take this review to both DxD and DxD NEW instead of just NEW that the story kinda throws a lot in your face. I personally greatly enjoyed both seasons though and I've read the light novel multiple times. If someone finds DxD a bit too rushed to really enjoy then he/she should totally give the light novel a shot since it has way more scenes and storyline in between events which causes the pace to be way more casual.

The anime however is a great way to see most of the action and ecchi scenes ( even though they made the ecchi scenes softer compared to the light novel hehe ) xD (view post)

There isn't really a proper pronoun for ambiguous people (or for gender-neutral usage) in English or Japanese like there is in Swedish. Using "it" is usually a pronoun for an inanimate object, which can be demeaning when used on a person or character. Using "s/he" only works for instances where the gender is definitive one way or the other but unknown. Using "they" isn't widely accepted as it's usually used for a group of people. Using the character's (or person's) name is probably the best way although it isn't a pronoun. (view post)

A "tomboy" doesn't have to follow the definition 100% and honestly in my opinion, the term is getting looser and looser as stereotypical gender roles are dissolving away. Also, being a good cook and having a cute voice has nothing to do with being a tomboy or not - some guys can cook, some girls can't cook; some girls have lower-pitched voices, some guys have higher-pitched voices.

While it's not easy to find out who put the tag on, there is no clear evidence to either support or deny if Ritsu is a tomboy, and I'm not willing to debate this any further or remove the tag; whoever posted the tag can remove it if they feel they have made a mistake.

Technically though 「そうじろう」 directly romanizes/transliterates to "soujirou" (そ = so,　う = u,　じ = ji,　ろ = ro,　う = u) and "Sōjirō" is more for pronunciation for westerners. Also "ō" is also used for "double 'o'", ookami (wolf) being an example, so "ō" = "ou" isn't entirely true all the time. (view post)

Sometimes I wonder... Sōjirō(romanji) translates into Soujirou(western). ō=ou in the phonetic pronunciation guide. This is done to ease searches because the English language done not include the caracter ō. (view post)
