Dueteragonist
When editing a character, you can change it's role. After a little research I've found out L Lawliet (Death Note) is a Dueteragonist, not any of the other options. Could the option of dueteragonist be added? ![]() ---- Notification: Moderation Queue I've also requested a few changes on characters, and one change on an Anime. But when changing the Anime information, I didn't see a notification that it had been added to the Moderation queue. Maybe something to be fixed? ---- Reaching the Forum I was only a bit lucky to find the Forum. This could be done more clear, like adding a button in the columns where also the "News" button is. ---- The Forum itself There probably already has been a discussion about this, but I couldn't find that. Would it be possible to change this forum with an actual Internet Forum Software-thing (not sure how to call it), like IPB, myBB, phpBB etc.? It's not that there is anything wrong with this, but just; would that be possible? ---- Well, that were my requests.

Thanks for the requests Waflix!
Here's what we can do: Dueteragonist See the previous discussion on this topic. I see merit in having Dueteragonist and Tritagonist. Decided against it since most people would have to Wiki the term to know what it means. Notification: Moderation Queue Ugh, that was brutal. The character aspect is done, moderators now have tools to clear out the moderation queue. There will be notifications I can link together. I'll add a "My Moderation Status" link when it is done. Reaching the Forum That was easy. Added Forum to the Menu buttons. The Forum itself No. |

Rei actually used to run one of those, and it took him a long time to write his own custom forum software, so good luck on convincing him to switch back! :-P ![]() |

^ I'm not trying to convince him. I was just wondering. But you just told me a good reason for not doing so.

It's exactly as Kyareshi said.
![]() There is of course, always room for improvement. That was one of the main reasons for coding my own forum - now I can handle feature requests, and fix bugs. While I understand the arguments that can be made for using one of the big Forum projects, I'd much rather spend my time improving my own forum, than arguing against switching to another one. I'm thinking about hosting smaller community forums on the site, rather than having a large generic forum. Part of the problem with this forum is we have far too diverse interests. Those willing to start new threads, often see no replies unless the topic is as generic as generic can be. The forum is well integrated with the site, so it's no longer an issue that people arn't aware it exists. So with community forums, those who join them, will right off the bat have something in common and something to talk about with everyone there. There will also be a default community which everyone is a member of. Considering that will be a blank new forum, it might be possible to correct the mistakes that were made in the founding of this forum. ( ie. way too many topics for way too small a user base ) Anyways, that's kinda my long term plan. All that said, I'm willing to hear any requests for improving this forum. Always a chance I can code them in. Update for Notification: Moderation Queue - I'll try to do a revised User Control Panel soon. It would kinda be nice to have all that information, and related bits of data in one centralized place. My to-do list is overflowing ATM, so let's say an EttC ( Estimated time to Completion ) of September [ Edited Aug 3, 2011 ] |

I'm not convinced that "too many topics for way too small a user base" is a problem. If anything, the many topics demonstrates our tenacity as a community. If there was a problem, it's the lack of participation, and that's not magically going to rise just because you segregate the forums more (though it would certainly be nice if it did). ![]() |

Added Dueteragonist . Finally having watched 2 seasons of Death Note, I know exactly what you mean about L. Nothing but Dueteragonist fits. I'm sure that'll be the case for other series.
If people don't know what a Dueteragonist is when indexing, the solution is simple: don't use it. ![]() If people see a character indexed as one, they can look up the word and learn something new. I appreciate your insights Kyareshi. I worded my observations like that in hopes you'd respond. ^_^ Participation sums up the problem, and it's certainly not a simple issue to solve. I understand segregated forums wont magically solve the issue, but it's something I intend to try. I suspect though, every step forward I make towards making the site an attractive place to join, with things to do... will bring us closer to having a larger pool of people participating on the forums. And I think Waflix is helping us there. ^^ |

Figured this is as good a place to go. maybe in the "Whose that Character Board" the ability to give multiple people credit on the answers for a single image, for when one persons answers one character in the image and another answers another one on the same image. give multiple people credit...
That wont be easy*. I can see the merit though, as partial answers have become common place. I'll give it some thought. See what solutions I can come up with. * moving anything that uses fixed storage to unlimited storage generally involves a massive amount of work. ねえキャレシさん lol [ Edited Aug 17, 2011 ] |

I think I have come up with a solution.
We could copy the answers from the comments into a new single post, citing who said what then mark that as the "Solution". Example: http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/who.php?id=2469 (I would create a new comment for the preceding containing the following then mark solved). Hikarihaze Orange hair dude on the left is 'Ichigo Kurosaki' from "Bleach" http://animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=2359 Blue hair guy on the right is 'Grimmjow Jaggerjack' also from "Bleach" http://animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=15204 From right to left, that is 'Rintaro Okabe', 'Mayuri Shiina', and 'Kurisu Makise' from "STEINS;GATE" http://animecharactersdatabase.com/source.php?id=2553 Bogie Yes, they are from Gosick. And the white haired girl is Shiro from Deadman Wonderland. http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/character.php?id=23881 |
