Not that it would be fair if someone were to go over all solved threads and compile answers with the sole purpose of stealing credit.

I'll come up with a way to assign credit on a reply by reply basis.

Also on the subject of the WTCB, is it possible for changes made on the board also effect the main page as well. I say this because I just marked a page NSFW and on the WTCB it is noted but on the main page it is still unmarked. The title of the Question is "Who is this? What is the name of the anime or ova?". I ask because some people(including myself at times) sometimes click on the "Green Arrow" to see the image directly and many would be hesitant if it is marked "NSFW"

i've added to the front page for mods a "Rebuild Last 5" button in the Who's This Character board summary ... that'll let you manually update it with a single click

but it really should regenerate the last 5 automatically ... i'll try to take care of that soon

I think (I'm not quite sure) the image uploader hangs/crashes when trying to upload a series of images. After the first successful upload of the additional image for Etna (Disgaea) I went and tried to upload another picture. It hung for several minutes before I decided to check the image size (about 700KB). I refreshed the page by clicking on Etna, and tried again, after a few seconds, the second picture was successful.

Something you may want to look into when you have a chance since it's not horribly important.

It's an issue I'm aware of... seems to happen a few times every other day.

The best solution I have is to run a secondary upload server with everything optimized for uploads.

Problem is, I haven't quite yet figured out how to make it a seamless process.


A more temporary solution is to increase the max script execution time, I think.
Did the upload seem to hang after exactly 60 seconds? I'll take a chance and increase the max_execution_time. Maybe that'll fix it.

Hmm... I think the picture took about 10 seconds to upload when it did (I wasn't paying much attention and I don't remember too well at this point). I uploaded some small pictures not too long ago (about 30-60kb) for another character and it worked just fine sequentially. I guess we'll find out whenever I get around to uploading the larger pictures again.

The Fan of Blair On the French Wikipédia, Crona is described as a GIRL... But on many websites about Soul Eater (Soul Eater Wiki for example) his/her gender is rated as "UNKNOWN". Because of this persisting mystery, is it possible to rate his/her gender as Unknown on AnimeCharactersDataBase too ?

Taken from the comments from Crona's page. I see that the only genders we have is just male and female. Perhaps we should add "Unknown/Ambiguous" to the list of genders?

How about letting the community give them credit much in the way "reputation" works on many forums? The votes of users with a higher moderator level or a higher "reputation" themselves could carry more weight, if you want to screen out self-upvoting spoof accounts.

However, with this many characters it is sometimes difficult to find a character that you are looking for. Even if you are quite specific and set all traits, you are likely given multiple pages to sift though to find the character you are looking for.
This makes tags increasingly important. I think we should take a note from zerochan.net with the way tags are assigned. How as you start typing the tag you want to assign it starts to give you a drop down list(is that what it's called?) to help you. This would help prevent multiple tags of the same thing, and make it easier to find the tag you want that already exists. Like "Hat" or "hat". It would also prevent misspelling.

The tag search is case insensitive, meaning it wouldn't matter if someone searched "Hat" or "hat" because they would get all the characters tagged with a hat.

In terms of misspelling, it would make it easier to add the tag, but it wouldn't help if someone misspelled the tag when searching.

If you need to search tags, use the tags search page that the "Tags" button brings you to. It seems like the tags option of the main search box drop down menu isn't coded to the tags search or something like that. Rei will get around to fixing it at some point.
