In the Japanese anime and manga series InuYasha, the mother of characters Kagome and Sota. Her name is Nodoka Higurashi. Little is known about her, except that she is always supportive of Kagome. Whenever InuYasha drops by, she would welcome him to stay and ask him to dine with the family. She is very lax about Kagome's life, and does not seem to mind at all that her daughter spends long periods of time with strangers in the distant past. How much of the situation she actually understands is debatable. Her husband, the father of Kagome and Sota, is never shown or seen in the series, he is only briefly mentioned in the first movie of the franchise, as Mama tries to encourage Kagome when she senses that the situation is dire on the other side of the worm hole. Mama could be either 'Mrs. Higurashi' or 'Ms. Higurashi'. Interestingly enough, although she obviously cares for her daughter her skills as a parent can be brought into question. In episode four of the anime despite the fact that her 15 year old daughter was being literally dragged out of the house by a man she had never seen before all she seemed to care about were Inuyasha's ears.This may have been just to be joke. |
