Caius Ballad (カイアス・バラッド, Kaiasu Baraddo?) is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy XIII-2, who has engaged his fated rival, Lightning, in an endless battle on the shores of Valhalla. Caius is an important figure in both Noel Kreiss's past and Serah Farron's future. Caius is the immortal Guardian of the seeress, Paddra Nsu-Yeul. Having lived since before the War of Transgression, he protected Yeul from any foreign threat. Because his efforts to change the future shorten the seeress's life, he now seeks to destroy the world to end her suffering by killing the goddess Etro. |
