In order for Jiangdong to have the strength to rival great powers, Shao Zhang and Hong Zhang decided to get in touch with forbidden arts. Hong Zhang, due to the forbidden arts cut off her five senses, becoming unable to see, hear, and speak, but as a result she gained the powerful ability to predict the future. Through this ability to predict the future Jiangdong was able to avoid many crises. Since very few people knew of Hong Zhang's existence, Jiangdong's ministers and people thought of Shao Zhang as a medium with the ability to predict the future, and worshipped her as a god.
