Story & Information -

Rumble Roses is a professional wrestling fighting game for the PlayStation 2. The game uses the same engine as Yuke's 2003 release WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain.
Rumble Roses features an all female cast. There are regular matches and mud wrestling matches. There is also a story mode and an option to allow two computer controlled girls to "duke it out while you watch."
Rumble Roses' boasts a heel/face system, witch I’ve utilized to organize the characters. ‘Heels’ or ‘Villains’ personas have been categorized as antagonists. an respectively ‘Faces’ or ‘Heroes’ are classified as protagonists.
Most characters start as a face. Three of them, however (Bloody Shadow, Candy Cane, and Evil Rose), start as the heel. Alternate forms of each character are unlocked through the Vow System. Vows are specific things the player must complete during matches, such as not using weapons, using a Killer Move, or winning the match within a certain time limit.
The game's unique unlock system allows only one version of each character (either heel or face) to be unlocked for exhibition matches at any time (NTSC ver. only). The characters can still change back and forth, and unlocked characters remain open for story mode and gallery mode. This effectively cuts the roster in half for exhibition mode.
However, in the Japanese release of the game, one can play as any unlocked character by holding R1 while selecting said character.

4 4 Star Review of Rumble Roses by Mitsugu

Mitsugu Mouryou’s Anime Review

This game harkens back to late 80’s early 90’s WWF style of wrestling. Back then showboating was done for a reason, to make the matches lasted more than 35 seconds. Anyone who’s seen a UFC match understands. The intros are superb, the game play controls could be a bit more responsive, and the interstitial cut scenes containing the plot are beyond cheesy, but over all I’d have to rate this creation from Japan a 3.85, great drunken fun, but in no way epic. This game does where thin after about an hour.
