Mitsugu Mouryou’s Anime Review
Code Geass R2 is the 2nd season of Lelouch’s epic reconstruction of the world. It starts off a bit faster than the first, but much needs to be explained, like wth has brought everything back to the beginning, and who the hell is Rolo?!!?! Now after a few explanatory eps the series picks up a bit faster with more twists and bad guys, but no shortage what so ever on the action. I do have a bone to pick (and pray no nekos suffer from this) but as the series progresses the custom built Knightmares seem more agile, nimble, and far faster than Jackie Chan on a meth bender! Nothing that size and weight should be able to move that fast (on earth). It just bugged me, but I got over it. Happily, you will have all of your perplexing questions answered: What really happened to Lady Marianne? What is Geass? And Who the fark is C.C. always talking to?! Spoiler Alert!: the ending is epically poetic, and don’t forget your hanky, from the start! The music is marginally better. The opening and closing themes are less annoying and the rest of the music really accents the tone of the scenes. The Voice acting, and character design was about the same… mildly creepy, but tolerable. Character development is quite extensive… so many questions are answered! Which leads me to: my conclusion: For anyone who has seen the first Code Geass, this is a MUST SEE, you will enjoy it! The twisty plot, the action, the drama, and the perfect end won’t disappoint. With violence, plenty of blood, and only mild language I give it a 6.6(out of 10) Thank you MMAR38 Side note: I won't even touch on the flagrant disregard of nuclear physics when it come to the F.L.E.I.J.A.(Field Limitary Effective Implosion Armament, pronounced "flaya") warheads. |
