I was looking around the database in your names list and I was thinking "you know, a way of searching for the names would be nice here". Just a suggestion but a search string for the names would be appreciable.

We did offer a name search a little while back. It has since be depreciated and replaced with the Google site search which is actually quite effective.

You can find it on the front page, near the bottom - be sure to check search www.animecharactersdatabase.com otherwise it acts as a normal Google search.

Back to your main point, the name charts are in need of improvement. Jino is working on a new system to efficiently browse through the character names.

Next order of business (similar so I'm not going to make another thread for it), I've found that some of the character's information slots are empty (Japanese equivalent to names, seiyuu and some others). Thought I'd bring that up to your attention as well as give some good resources for filling those out (at least where anime is concerned, I'm not into the games/graphic novels/manga):

I just made a little "tweak" to the broswe by character names page. If you type "&all" to the end of the URL and hit Enter, you'll get the full list rather than 25 names.

ie) http://www.animecharactersdatabase.com/chart.php?letter=S&page=2&all

This is just a temp hack. The whole chart needs to be improved visually, and usably. Some of the lists are really long.

Another update on the name search: I've added one. You'll find it just below the search panel that show up on most pages.

I'm a little curious on any design suggestions. Right now it works best on one keyword. If you type in two keywords it's the same as typing find exactly "first second". It's a little tricky to code, but what ever you would like in a good Name search, let me know and I'll make it.

that's cool, the only thing I could think of with this was adding boolean capability but simple like it is works fine.
