Kantai Collection (艦隊これくしょん Kantai Korekushon, lit. "Fleet Collection", subtitled as "Combined Fleet Girls Collection"), abbreviated as KanColle (艦これ KanKore), is a Japanese free-to-play web browser game developed by Kadokawa Games. The game was launched on April 23, 2013. As of April 2015, the game is available in Japan only and has 3 million registered players. The game has developed into a much larger media franchise; various media including multiple manga series and light novels have been released, in addition to an officially licensed tabletop role-playing game. A PlayStation Vita game was released in February 2016, and an anime television series began airing its first season in January 2015, with an animated film released in November 2016 and an upcoming sequel series announced.
Both are an RNG-based military strategy game with same gameplay elements but a different setting: KanColle - WW2 ships as girls fighting an abyssal organization bent on world domination TouRabu - Feudal Japanese swords as boys fighting a retrograde force aimed on altering history, and sometimes a mysterious force that doesn't want any interference in the space-time continuum Both are published by DMM.com, but have different developers - Kadokawa Games for KanColle, while Nitroplus for TouRabu.
