Story
Kyou Yamada and Asu Yamada are two sisters, one only in junior high school and the other in elementary school.

Their father disappeared due to accumulating gambling debt, and they're still grieving the death of their mother, but despite these difficulties they're never in low spirits, spending every day brightly and energetically.

Thanks to a law that was changed a few years ago, Kyou is now able to work, and while still attending junior high school she delivers newspapers, does private tutoring, and sometimes takes provisional part-time jobs to support the household.

Asu is in charge of all the housework, such as cooking for everyone and cleaning. She also properly manages the money and helps out her big sister.

And these two are surrounded by many people who watch over them, such as the landlord, the neighboring novelist Saegusa-san, the lady at the public bath, and the people in the shopping district.

There are a lot of troubles and messes, but for the two of them, nothing makes them happier than having their 'little sister' and 'big sister' by their side.

This is a heartwarming story that follows the seasons and depicts the various events that occur in the daily lives of those two sisters, Kyou and Asu, who live in a 40-year-old 1-kitchen apartment with no bath and 26,000 yen rent.

The two of them may teach us important things that we tend to overlook.
