Gozumaru is from the Gyuki clan, who resides with Gyuki and Mezumaru on Mount Nejireme. He first appeared as an antagonist towards the Nura clan. There, Gozumaru tried eliminating Tsurara but was defeated by Rikuo. After Gyuki's defeat against Rikuo on Mount Nejireme, the Gyuki clan were invited to stay in the Nura main house.

Gozumaru is a hot-headed, funny youkai who usually takes it out on Mezumaru. Aside from his katana as a weapon, he has monsterous claws which grows out from his back.

He has feelings towards Tsurara Oikawa, as he is always seen teasing her. They first met on Mt. Nejireme.

In The Final Battle: Act 2, Kuromaru stated that Gozumaru has feelings towards Tsurara and everyone knows about it but he denied the truth.

In the last chapter, Gozumaru seem annoyed when Shoei blushed as Tsurara called out Shoei's name.


In the extra chapters where Rikuo got drunk and was molesting every female youkai, Gozumaru cried out for Tsurara, telling her to run from the likes of the drunken Night Form, Rikuo.
