I don't know how many people here have heard of this series, but it's awesome. I caught it halfway through season one when it aired in South Africa and I was instantly hooked. I was nailed in front of my television every week – it's just so tense! Nuclear attacks have been launched on 23 major cities in the USA and the town of Jericho has been cut off from the rest of the world, and for the whole of the first season, the story follows the various townspeople as they struggle for survival.
So after months of waiting for the second season to air here, I finally concluded that it won't, and bought myself the DVD. Unfortunately, due to the writers' strike in America, only some seven episodes were ever produced. Still, I was very pleased with each of them. In fact, I practically marathoned them (and if I didn't have a day job I probably would have in one night). Sadly, having been cancelled a second time, it seems Jericho is off the air for good. There is apparently a fan movement to bring it back, but in the meantime, the writers took an interesting alternative in deciding to print the third season in comic book format. Thirsty as I am for more of Jericho, I ordered the first two issues as soon as I learned of their existence, and they just arrived on my doorstep last weekend. You know, it's funny after reading so much manga to actually read a comic from the US. There's a hell of a difference. For one thing, I'm not used to reading my comics in colour! Not to mention from left to right. Or in bloody English for that matter. Kudos to the artists for drawing the characters so much like their television counterparts. Two short comics really aren't enough to pass judgment yet, but so far it's capturing the spirit of the TV show very well, and I'm looking forward to getting more. ![]() |

I recently discovered Jericho as well and have enjoyed it immensely, I quite enjoy "The Day After" type scenarios(one of the reason's I love Fallout so much) I agree it's a shame that it won't be continued, another in a long of show that just don't get a chance to shine, I think Science Fiction and fans are afraid to commit to any show after being disappointed so many times.
