My brother has this picture and I've been trying to find out who they are for so long.
Does anyone know who they are and what anime they're from?

...I know I've seen those two but from where eludes me... The first thing that pops in to my head is Kuroshitsuji however I haven't seen that series so I'm not sure.

I think that might be someone from Neon Genisis Evangelion

Not Kuro Shitsuji or Evangelion, the art style is nothing like either one.

I've seen it posted several times, but I don't think anyone ever got an answer. To guess I'd say they're original characters.

I'm going to take an educated guess and say that it could be Black Blood Brothers fanart. I say that because of the picture below (screenie from ep 1 of Black Blood Brothers). Beside the obvious absence of a hat, the male character's design is strikingly similar. Another distinction that links the two, the glasses/goggles on both pictures.

It isn't Jirou, there's too many differences for it to be. The clothing style is different, the two in the first pic look like they belong in a Final Fantasy type setting. I haven't seen all of it but I don't remember ever seeing a girl who looks like her. The guys hair is too short, and although the colour of the glass is the same, the style of the glasses is different. And the eye colour is different.

The only real similarity is their hair colour and the long bits of hair in the front.
