What does "This character is type [ Normal ] therefor we do not index visual/official traits for it." mean?
I have seen a lot of different characters proclaim that as their 6 traits. Here is a specific example:

When I do a search with normal drop down on the top of every page, do those characters appear?

What options and searches are necessary to find all characters in the database with various traits, when Role, Type, and Hair Color Highlight is unimportant?

When it says that, it means that the "Type" has been set to "Game / Not Anime-Style Animation". If you are looking at video game characters, such as Aerith as you posted before, then that will show up instead of the traits.

The reason we have that category is so that video game characters that are in 3D style don't show up in the searches. We want to keep the focus of this site on anime and visual novels, not video games.

As of now, I don't think they will show up in the normal search, but you can always change the advanced setting for a search. It's at the bottom of every search page. I hope that helped! ^^
