Working on some alternative ranking sets this weekend.

Say, for example... being a long time fan of Star Trek TNG, their ranking system feels more natural to me. ^_^ And that includes:

Admiral, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant, Ensign, Crewman

Now, if there is a ranking system that you prefer, give me the titles, and a name for the system, then I can code it in and give you the option to select it.

Just finished the seventh season last week, so next I'll be pursuing the movies.

In terms of a ranking system, that's as good as any, I'd say. :P

I wasn't actually requesting a transfer, though, just grabbed a random captain from the list.

Haha, s'alright. Got me thinking though, it may be useful to be able to form teams. Each Captian having a Commander, and each Commander having several Ensign's and Lieutenant's.

I'm still working out a lot of things in my mind I want to have...

Such as a point system. Some way of evaluating a persons contributions. Plus a way to evaluate activity, as well as recent activity. And merits/demerits, plus negative ranks - just for fun. Hehe.

I want this so Guild Positions accurately reflect what people are doing on the site. Active leaders should have leadership positions, and inactive leaders should have lower membership positions.

Still working out a mod system as well. The stuff Crewman submit will be subject to moderation by higher ranking members. Times moderated should also make up a counter somewhere.

On top of all this, I still have an obligation to create a perfect system for handling character and title submissions. I'm strongly considering a "redirect" approach. Dunno how many people are technically familiar with the inner workings of wikipedia, but surely you've seen cases where multiple URL's pull up the exact same Wiki page. They tend to be marked near the top by "Redirected from: ". Content types were fun, but I don't feel it's as useful as I had hoped. Such as having separate pages for Anime,Manga,Games,OVA,Movie,S2,S3,etc,etc,etc..... I need a better solution that what I've got. I'm open to ideas.
