Guild Software is still coming along... did some work today setting the country your Guild will hail from. Options include: Central, North, South, East and West.

I also want to be able to display country populations based on each members primary guild. Like, if you are a member of 50 guilds, we wont count you 50 times... only once, for your primary guild. I'm a little stuck how to do this...... guess I can force the guild order field to have to always have one guild with the value 1 (aka primary guild) just that it'll be hard to code that tight. I'd much rather use loose numbering... like you could have 10 #1's but only the first #1 in a MySQL sort would be counted..... but I dunno how to pull that off yet.


Also I'll be creating a complete monetary system. The council will be the central bank, and the guilds will be the banks that lend to the guild members. I also want there to be a Merchants Guild (think Spice and Wolf) where you pay the merchants guild a membership fee.... and so long as you uphold the tenets of your membership, you are allowed to buy and sell items through that guild, earning currency. I love the currency system in Dragon Age Origins... so we'll be using that.

What's a Civilian rank? xP

The lowest of ranks! hehe. Higher ranks reflect your level of trust, and general moderation abilities across the site. As I start implementing new moderation tools for user submitted content, the guild rank will play an important part. For now, it's just a fancy Star Trek title. ;-)

I still have big plans from our Guild System scattered across old posts here... The Guilds System remains a dream I hold dearest, but it'll have to wait until ACDBv2 is completed and the Forums are completed.... then! We'll all have fun merging in the Guild features into the site one by one.

Rei Working on some alternative ranking sets this weekend. Say, for example... being a long time fan of Star Trek TNG, their ranking system feels more natural to me. ^_^ And that includes: Admiral, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant, Ensign, Crewman Now, if there is a ranking system that you prefer, give me the titles, and a name for the system, then I can code it in and give you the option to select it.

I do like this type.. gives me a little of a military feeling too.. xd

Hi Alraune! I saw your name a lot when modding comments, so I bumped up your rank to Lieutenant. While at the same time, the entire staff here has been demoted for being MIA. lol

13x31 and Alraune can change the rank of anyone ranked lower than them.

I know lots of people use the forums and not the site, or the site and not the forums..... so until the new forum is finalized, the Guild System really only applies to the people on the main site.

I absolutely love anime and I was so happy when I found out about ACDB.. it also helped me in finding my actual favourite character.. xd
Just a question now.. characters in cg from and games JRPG can be added or are they required to be at least designed in anime style..? Sorry for being off topic..

any character someone somewhere might someday wonder "Who's that character and where are they from" - can be added to the database. So cg and JRPG characters are fine... but we'll need the character name, the title of the what they are from, and a URL to where people can find more info. ie) home page, wiki

which reminds me... i still need to code an ACDBv2 add character system, add title system, edit character system, and assign character system.

Try out the existing ones, and if any improvements come to mind, ask here and i shall code.
