Six years have passed since the end of the war in Japan. On a train bound for Zushi, there is a man. 'Shuugo Takashiro'―― a former member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
A newspaper headline on Shuugo's lap reminds him of the reason why he's heading to the far off Zushi area after his resignation.

He had been sent to Zushi because his former boss, 'Kazuma Arishima', was in charge of this case, which was unprecedented in Japan.

He couldn't refuse a request from Arishima, who had helped him as his superior through Changsha, Manchuria, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The case he took over was the disappearance of the daughter of a good family.
At the Kouzuki house where the disappearance took place, he meets 'Kazuna Kouzuki'―― a girl who has the same face as 'Yura Kouzuki', his former lover.
She begs him to help her find her older twin sister who has disappeared.
