I'm hoping I can have the Guild base ready to go by the end of the month. ^_^

The clones listing is back.

Next thing I want to do is, in the Edit Character part where you can set the Parent ID, I'd also like to set "Parent Type".

Since not every duplicate is worthless.

1. Different Name
2. Different Traits
3. Different Name and Traits

I think a great example here is Mahoraba ~Heartful days~



To someone unfamiliar with the series, it might look like 5 Kozue Aoba's! Yet, they all different either by name, traits or both.

Same rule can be applied to characters who evolve over a series. Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, etc.


Lastly... the 4th duplicate type is "exact copy".

Did I miss anything, or should go ahead with this duplicate approach?

Another good example of the duplicate tool thingy is Takamachi Nanoha.

She originally appears in the Triangle Hearts 3 game (or whatever it's called, I don't remember exactly). She then gets her own anime series (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS), which she appears as a child (9 years old) in the first two parts of the series, and then in StrikerS, she is an "adult" (16-17).

Nanoha in StrikerS has "same name, different traits" as Nanoha in A's, which has "same name, same traits" as Nanoha in MGLN, which has "same name, same traits" as Nanoha that appears in Triangle Hearts 3.

Anyway, when I add MGLN and A's, I'll fix the characters in the series.

For Shana, I'd probably say yes, but I couldn't say which type it is, since I haven't watched the series.

For Takeru, it would depend on which "seasons" of Digimon he appears as a child and which ones he appears as a teen.

The way I handled the Nanoha series in the above example (after adding the original title and A's) was to have the same Nanoha character (ID#) assigned to both the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's seasons, and then use a duplicate "same name, different traits" for the Nanoha in StrikerS.

Since Digimon appears as a whole right now and not by "seasons", Takeru is best left alone for now until the other "seasons" are added and linked, and characters are created/assigned/linked properly.

Rei: I'm thinking about adding a "title" to ACDB that would be our "pool" for characters that need to be "deleted". It would make it much easier to unassign complete duplicates and fake characters from the titles they currently reside in, while making the "char-delete" list readily available. The characters' names will still probably need to be changed to "delete(charname)" or "duplicate(charname)" so when they appear in the character search, it will be evident that it is not the "original" character. Will implement when approved.

I have noticed that there are two entries for Studio E.Go! (english name) one with a dot and another with a centered dot:

Under the one with the dot there's only one game (CASTLE FANTASIA 2 ~SEIMA TAISEN~). I think the correct name is the one with the centered dot, so the easy way to go would be to change the studio for the lone game and delete the studio that gets "empty".
