Story
In this world, there are students with the title of 'Super High School Level' who are given various privileges through the 'Gifted System', a special incentive system implemented by the government, and are expected to have a bright future. Kaede Akamatsu, the 'Super High School Level Pianist', is one of them.
Students with super high school level talent are scattered all over the country and have never been brought together, but one day, 16 super high school level students including Kaede are locked up in 'The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles'.
The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles is a school ruled by a mysterious stuffed animal named 'Monokuma', who calls himself the headmaster, and his children, the 'Monokubs'.
According to Monokuma, this school is a place where extremely talented high school students compete to be the best at a killing game.
He also tells them that in case of a murder, a class trial will be held to discuss 'who is the blackened', and that there is an insane rule that if the correct answer is reached, only the blackened will be punished, and if the answer is wrong, only the blackened will survive and all the remaining innocent students will be punished.
The school is surrounded by a huge wall, so escape may as well be impossible. The only way to get out of this place is to do as Monokuma says and play the killing game—
In order to stop the killing game, and to protect others, the curtain rises on a class trial where ＂truth＂ is shot through with ＂lies＂.
