Story
The setting is a world where guinea pigs have become cars.
These healing vehicles are 'Molcar'. They have large, cute eyes, big round butts, and short legs that run at a trot. Molcar are always running around with a blank expression. Even when you're stuck in traffic, just seeing a guinea pig's butt in front of you is soothing, so even if you have a little trouble, you can forgive them because they're so fluffy and cute, right?!
This is a guinea pig-filled animation with healing, friendship, adventure, and crazy action, focusing on various situations unique to cars!

The director of this work, Mr. Tomoki Misato, won the Grand Prix at the 'Paris International Fantastic Film Festival (PIFFF)' and many other awards both in Japan and abroad for his film 'My Little Goat', which was released in 2018 as his thesis for graduate school at the Tokyo University of the Arts. He is one of the most notable puppet animation creators today.
Director Misato has teamed up with Shin-Ei Animation, known for 'Doraemon' and 'Crayon Shin-chan', to work on 'PUI PUI Molcar'. The guinea pig characters, made with needle felting, move around expressively in stop-motion animation. The titular 'PUI PUI' is the sound of a guinea pig. And the voice acting is done by an actual guinea pig! The result is a work that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages, not only by children, and that can also impress anime fans who are eager to see a new expression of animation. Please take a look.
