Very nice relaxing anime!
I went into this anime without much hope but oh man I was surprised.
This anime is by far one of the most entertaining highschool anime series and almost all the characters are likable one way or the other ( Masuzu being my favorite ).
Already reading a bunch of other light novels at the moment but once I am done with them I will be sure to also pick up the light novel of this anime since I really REALLY want to know what is going to happen after the anime ending.

Actually, his eyes would actually be a mixture of both colors. From what I've gathered from the manga/anime, a reaper's eyes are more of a chartreuse (vibrant yellow-green) color. (view post)

Anon, how does that ruin the character? You can't say it's because it's homosexual (which is a ridiculous reason for a character to be "ruined" in the first place) because Yoite isn't even technically a male OR female, and we never learn if Yoite identifies solidly as either male or female. I don't see how that ruins it at all, and if you think it's ruined just because Miharu may love someone who isn't a gender norm (by no fault of Yoite's own) then not only are you narrow-minded, but also shallow. I'm not saying you HAVE to ship it. I'm just saying don't shoot down other people's ships because of your own (likely personal/religious based) opinion. (view post)

I fully agree with you, it was a slight fault in Light's judgement to trust anyone besides himself with such an important thing but the thing is that Light did defeat L and that was the supposed ending of the manga before the authors were forced by the publishers to write another random arc with newly made up characters.
So all in all I'd say Light is smarter, yes he made mistakes but so did L.

I just completed this manga, I must admit that the manga was so much better than the anime that it is hard to even consider the anime to be a part of the original story.
It's funny because the anime ending even though it was an open ending it still felt like it was nearing a conclusion...how wrong I was xD The anime ending was only at roughly chapter 50 out of 167 of the manga and after reading all the chapters today I have to say that this manga rocks!

Yes at the start the protagonist is quite gutless and annoyed me aswell but as more characters get introduced and we get more character development between the characters the story really becomes better and better. Ofcourse there will always be some people that complain about the manga ending due to not getting their favorite heroine ending but I am honestly quite pleased with how it is written out to be and it is hard to imagine it ending any differently.

All in all I greatly enjoyed reading this the entire day and I highly recommend it to everyone thats into romance/school manga series. ( the anime is also a decent watch but the manga is just better ) (view post)

Because realistically writing a show means having easily recognizable jokes. If Kid explains eight's symmetrical perfection once, it becomes funny every time he mentions eights. It would be silly for them to write him fawning over *every* symmetrical thing/number/letter/etc. Besides, it's easier/gets bigger laughs to show overreactions to unsymmetrical things (like him fainting while trying to write his own name) XD (view post)
