And you forget that soul calibur shares the same univerce as Tekken they have superhuman skills and Guts doesn't take on a demon that big head on he enters his body and kills it, kinda like shadow of colossus plus you forget the whole theme of the manga is for Guts to get hurt a lot more that it is possibly to, and somehow wins if you look at his fights objectively he was quite lucky while Nightmare can take on armies with rifles and win.
