I'd say L. Even though he died, it was a worthy sacrifice that led to Kira's defeat. Even then, I'd say they were about equal, although Light is also smarter in some ways--- putting my dislike for what light did aside, he's pretty intelligent. (view post)

I'd say Light up to the point where the author actually wanted to end the manga after L was defeated however the author was forced to continue the manga by his publishers and the quality really went down since then. Light already made some mistakes before but he almost felt retarded after the original ending.

I voted Light because the real ending was supposed to come earlier than where it currently ended but if I also have to judge Light by the later mistakes then L seems smarter. (view post)

wow, just wow. I just finished watching this series and it really was great.
I had a bit of trouble getting into the anime thanks to the animation but trust me everyone DO NOT DROP THIS it really is one of the best anime series I've seen and the feels of the last episode will not be forgotten.
